Rockland Golf Club (MCJGA)
RGC came to Pelican with the need for a website that would attract members and the general public.
The club also wanted to use the site to provide better service to their members and their "walk-in"
traffic. The club was going through many improvements at the time so had a limited budget, but
Pelican was able to provide them with a website worth thousands of dollars for a fraction of the
cost.
In discussions with the Board of Directors-created "Website Committee" the decision was made to
bite the bullet and build in some functionality for users and allow the golf course staff to
update parts of the site without having to have any coding skills.
The club has started a new "Partner program" and part of the benefits of being a partner of the
club include having a listing on their website. Pro shop staff can logon to the administrative
panel (secured by userID & password) add a new partner and upload that partners logo without
knowing any code or having to FTP any files (e.g. images of the companies logo) to a server,
the entire process is done through a standard web browser.
The site continues to go thru improvements each year as the board has decided to continually fund
it with the most recent feature being the ability to take virtual tours of select holes on the
course as well as a beta version of an online tee time system.
Pelican is also employed by RGC to manage their POS (Point of Sale) system and internal company
network. We work with Link Source who developed RGC's Point of Sale system to upgrade from their
DOS-based version to the new Windows-based on a new network for the club.
Pelican continues to work with Link Source to keep the product updated with minimal downtime for
the club.
